The Temple Property is bought!

On the November 30th 2007, Rs. 40 million was paid and the Temple property was bought. Thanks to all the well-wishers and devotees who contributed to this project. We also took a loan of Rs 10 million to make up this amount which we have to pay within the year in installments. Govardhana Puja

The Govardhana Puja commemorates the lifting of Mount Govardhan by Lord Krishna in Vrindavan in order to save the people from a heave rain that lasted for seven days. A huge mountain of Prasadam was offered to Sri Krishna on this day. see pictures

The Ratha Yatra Festival 2007

Chariot Festival for the 9th Time in Sri Lanka - 26/9/2007

International Society for Krishna Consciousness is conducting the 9th Ratha Yatra Festival in Sri Lanka on the 26th September 2007. Lord Jagannath along with Lord Baladev and Subadhra Devi will leave the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple, 188, New Chetty Street, Colombo 13 on the chariot at 8am. The Chariot will proceed along the main roads in Colombo City and their Lordships will shower their blessings upon everybody and every living entity along the path. Devotees can make offerings and accept the blessings of the Lord. The chariot will return to the temple at 1pm on the same day. There will be Prasadam distribution in the temple after the return of the chariot.
